Mark O'Reilly, General Manager Operational Performance & IT, MSS Security

MSS Security (Australia's largest security company) have recently deployed IBM Cognos TM1 to automate and standardise their day to day Operational Reports and identify areas for improvement in Operational and Financial Performance. The primary focus of the IBM Cognos TM1 Project has been to identify and improve the "E x E" (Efficiency and Effectiveness) of their Rostering and Management of their field workforce and given the multi-dimensional nature of the challenge, IBM Cognos TM1 was selected as the ideal application. Previously known as Chubb Security and having over 4500 staff across Australia, this project has been one of the highest priorities for the company since their rebranding and change of ownership in late 2008.

10:20 - 10:40   Coffee Break

10:40 - 11.30   Case Study - A leading retailer: Massive scalability with IBM Cognos TM1 9.4

Scott Wiltshire, Cubewise Southern Region Consulting Practice Manager

A leading retailer has recently implemented one of the world's largest IBM Cognos TM1 systems by data volume with 200 GB of cubes in memory. The system holds 2 years' worth of sales analysis information by product by store by week. Nightly over 500 million records are processed and loaded within a 4 hour batch window. Discover what is really possible with 64 bit TM1 and modern server hardware by taking advantage of granular cube locking and fully utilising multi-processor data loads. We will also explore Cubewise Retail best practices and some "Black Belt" TM1 techniques, such as "feedless" rules and pre-calculation of views to optimise performance.

11:30 - 12:30   IBM Cognos TM1 - taking elegance and simplicity to the next level
